During the recording process SAP switches over to the "PC Editor" mode when it encounters long text. SAP only takes 72 characters per line and each line is represented by one column in ERP². When entering data in an ERP² upload spreadsheet, if a user enters more that 72 characters in a "long text" column and tries to upload the spreadsheet an error will occur.
The user needs to restrict the number of characters in each "long text" excel column in the upload spreadsheet to a maximum of 72 characters. This will ensure that the number of characters being uploaded in a row does not exceed the SAP limit.
This can be done by selecting the "long text" column(s) and choosing "Data" from the menu bar -> validation -> the "settings" tab -> and then enter the following data:
In the "allow" box enter - "text length"
In the "data" box enter - "between"
In the "minimum" box enter - "0"
In the "maximum" box enter - "72"
