There are several components and features in the Stewardship Tier (formerly DSP) - such as Collect and Integrate - that can communicate with S/4HANA applications via remote function calls (RFC). Following the release of S/4HANA 2021 in October of 2021, we have seen some of these RFCs from the Stewardship Tier are breaking after customers upgrade their S/4HANA application. These are the issues discovered so far:
- 'RFC Extract' button in Data Source Registry returns 0 records.
- Collect Tables with RFC package types return error instead of downloading data.
- 'Create BAPI Template' button in Integrate returns error "failed when retrieving metadata".
With the release of Stewardship Tier 7.4.9, we have resolved the RFC issues encountered with S/4HANA 2021. Anybody experiencing these issues or considering the upgrade to S/4HANA 2021 should plan to upgrade their Stewardship Tier to 7.4.9 or later. It is available for direct customers to download via a ticket at support.syniti.com. Customers' Stewardship Tier instances that are hosted by Syniti will be upgraded as per their agreed upgrade schedule.
