[DSP / Collect] Granting Users Access to Specific Targets in Collect

Issue

Restricting access to targets in Collect in bulk by source type is out of scope and not a current feature of DSP. 

Workaround

However, you can limit the Collect targets one-by-one, by assigning them to a Security Role, and then adding users to that Security Role. 

NOTE: If users belong to another role that would give them access to other targets, they'll be able to see those other targets too. If a user belongs to the Migration Developer Security Role, for example, which grants access to the PowerUser WebApp group for Collect, that user would have access to all Collect targets.

To create a new security role:

  1. Click Admin > Security > Security Definitions > Security Roles in the Navigation pane.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter a name in the Name field.
  4. Enter a description in the Description field.
  5. Click Save.

To assign specific targets to the new security role:

  1. Click the Keys button for the new Security Role.
  2. Click the key icon for Collect Targets.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Select a target from the SECURITY DEFINITION KEY ID dropdown. 
  5. Click Save.

To assign users to the new security role:

  1. Click the back button on your browser twice.
  2. Click the Users icon for the new Security Role.
  3. Select the user you wish to add to the new Security Role.
  4. Click the Add Users button.
