You should only be running this if you are licensed for datasets besides standard US CASS address validation, such as Geocoding, or Foreign address validation.
*If your server doesn't allow internet connections, you'll need to run this on another machine than your server then copy over the data directory after it is updated. We also advise that you update your data files every other month for compliance with USPS usage of the CASS data in addition to the annual update of your license file.
*If you cannot locate your install manager or want to have the latest version, or need to run via command line see more here (login required, if you are a client you should be able to log in already or self register using your company email, please open a ticket with Syniti Support if you still have trouble getting access)
If you're not sure where your install is looking for the data, then you can run Regedit and look to the directory there, as well as you can alter it there as well if you want to change it.
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Loqate\Data
If your machine doesn't have that registry entry, you can copy it from another machine where you installed the local API by exporting from regedit, or download and run the file attached to this article at the bottom.
Getting started:
Graphical User Interface Mode Install Manager can be launched by double clicking on InstallManager.bat. normally located in your Loqate install directory. The first screen displays the version of the Local API currently installed, at the lower left corner.
If a proxy server is used, the checkbox “Use Proxy Server” needs to be checked and the Proxy server name and port need to be entered as shown below. If the proxy server needs authentication, the checkbox “Use authentication for proxy server” should also be checked & the user name and password need to be provided.
The first step is to provide the installation folder.
Please point to your working data folder(we do suggest this not be in the 'Program Files' directory to avoid permissions issues), so Install Manager will update the license information to your local license copy.
The next step is to provide a license key which was recently updated. Install Manager will communicate with licensing.loqate.com. If the license key is valid, the server will return the corresponding license pack to Install Manager and then Install Manager will update the license pack to the selected installation folder.
Once the license pack is saved to disk, Install Manager will display the contents of the license for reference. You can confirm the latest expiry dates displayed for your license key.
Click next and continue through the next steps to download any datasets available and then click to install them and close out at the end.
If at the end it says that not all datasets installed successfully, you can rerun the install manager and it should only download the file that failed. If it fails a second time, you can ensure no processes are running that may lock the files, and delete the specific file(s) is referenced and retry, and if still no success you can try deleting all downloaded files and restart again.
