If a connection fails with the message "“ConnectException: Connection refused” when attempting to connect from the data connector, check that the IBM i has the required services and the QSERVER subsystem running:
- Make sure that TCP/IP is running on the IBM i.
- Run WRKSBS to make sure that the QSERVER subsystem is working. If QSERVER is not running, start it using the command STRSBS QSERVER.
- On the IBM i, run STRHOSTSVR *ALL with security officer permissions.
