The following error can occur when using Microsoft Access as a source or target table in replications.
“A primary key on target table 'myTable' is required for replication 'New Replication001'.”
When using Microsoft Access as a source or target database, you need to set the primary keys via the Management Center, even if they are defined in the database. Microsoft Access does not provide primary keys to requesting applications in a way that is compatible with Syniti DR/DBMoto.
To define the primary key for a table in the Management Center:
- Select the table in the Metadata Explorer.
- From the right mouse button menu, choose Set Primary Key.
- In the Define Primary Key dialog, choose the fields which have been defined as the primary key in the Access database.
- Click OK to close the dialog.
