Overview
After completing the SAP application upgrade that uses the SQL Server database, you may execute the sp_removedbreplication stored procedure to remove the SQL Server replication objects (if these objects cause an error), which were being used by the Syniti Data Replication (SDR) software.
Once you execute this stored procedure, you may encounter the following error message: The log reader agent is not running.
This troubleshooting article provides step-by-step instructions to resolve this error.
Solution
Note: Ensure that the SQL Server tables were updated before you start to resolve this error.
To resolve this error, complete the following steps:
- Disable SDR/DBMoto replications and stop the Replication Service.
- Right-click Replication and click Validate replication > Rebuild to rebuild all the replications.
- Validate all the replications.

Right-click Replication and click Verify Replication > Run Verification > Reconcile Data to Verify and Reconcile all the replications.
Note: Ensure that you include all columns in the Verify process to reconcile the data. - Enable SDR/DBMoto replications and start the Replication Service.
- Verify all the replications. Note that you should limit Verify to only count or keys for faster verification process.
