This service is coupled with the addressIT module and can be configured from Setup>Options>Addressing or simply from the Options icon. The NCOA service allows a copy of your data file to be encrypted and uploaded for NCOA processing which in turn provides you with change of address information correction. The Options screen will look like the following:
NCOA options are available below the CASS Zip+4 Options which have been condensed for easier viewing into 3 Configuration tabs.
Options to enable the NCOA before or after deduping are available as well as Account Settings and Client Mailing Details. The Account Settings contain information settings to create a new account, adjust an existing account, or delete an account.
When you receive your processed data back, you will need to integrate these results into your original mainfile. This is done by copying the return file into the same folder that your mainfile resides in, and then opening your mainfile and choosing ‘Add Returned NCOA Addresses’ from the jobs menu. This will update your address data with the returned NCOA data.
Configuring NCOA Service
Before you get started applying the NCOA Service, you will need to obtain a license key from 360Science and also fill out some of the basic information that NCOA will need to generate your PAF forms and reports. To generate a new account go to Setup>Options>Addressing and click on the Configure option next to NCOA Account Settings in the Addressing tab under mDesktop Options.
- Select PAF Setup and then select Add New to create a new PAF account.
- Fill in the appropriate information in the PAF setup wizard to continue.
on the 2nd screen fill in a valid NAICS code - see below for a PDF with NAICS listings if you're unsure.
on the 3rd screen - if you're not sure - then you should be choosing NEITHER
Then it will ask you to digitally sign the PAF
- Once the PAF wizard is completed, the NCOA PAF form will appear on screen. (if you don't have a PDF view or issues with drivers, a copy should be made in C:\ProgramData\SmartSoft\NCOA that you can then copy to another machine with a pdf viewer) save a copy and send to 360Science. Your license key and registration information will be sent back to you once the PAF processing is verified. The PAF ID at the bottom of the NCOA PAF form is the main ID used to enable your account. Be sure not to submit multiple PAF forms as only one of the PAF ID's will be enabled.
If you are mailing records on behalf of another party, use the NCOA Client Mailing Details option to change your settings. If you are formatting data for a third party, please fill out the user form found in the section NCOA Account Settings
- Once you receive the PAF registration information back from 360Science, select the Account option and enter the information into the NCOA Account Setup.
- You can test the uplink connection by clicking on Test FTP. The setup is now complete and NCOA functionality will be available for any records containing contact information. Your NCOA account should now display as enabled instead of pending and the NCOA setup is complete.
NCOA Implementation
NCOA is a module that works in conjunction with 360Science US addressing and is only available as a add-on to existing 360Science US addressing customers. The result is a corrected address along with coding information to describe the reasons for the correction.
Various reports are available from the NCOA Processing Wizard including:
Cass Report - Displays the output of address correction using CASS Certified software in conjunction with current USPS address database files.
Processing Summary -NCOA Link Processing Summary Report showing processing information of address changes and moves.
Processing Details - Report showing the original address linked to the changed address after NCOA processing is completed.
