You can create both global and low-level traces using HiT ODBC/OLEDB Toolbox (or Workshop). The utility to be used and the instructions depend on the version of software you are using.
To create a Global Trace
- Exit from the application you want to trace.
- Open HiT Toolbox or Workshop from the Start\Programs\HiT ODBC menu or Start\Programs\HiT OLEDB menu.
- On the left hand side, you will see a folder labeled “Trace”. Open the Traces folder and double click on Global Trace
- HiT ODBC: Check Activate Global Trace; HiT OLEDB: Select 1-Trace
- Use the default Trace FileName or Insert a file name.

- Please leave HiT Toolbox/Workshop running. If Toolbox (Workshop) is closed, the trace will terminate before having captured the data.
