Overview
psaProjectQA provides each project with extra functionality to assist ADM success. The issue tracker stores project related issues. Metrics charts assist management with understanding the project completion. There are DOCIT & TrackIt options for clients who require more documentation on each step that is being executed. The Pre-Load and Post-Load reports auto generate to assist in the verification process. The Advance Copy Wave process assists in the copy and validation of the wave.

Install psaProjectQA
Install this application on Syniti Solutions DSP versions 7.0.6 and above.
Download the Application & License
Create a support ticket at support.syniti.com to obtain the psaProjectQA application and/or license.
Perform the following steps to retrieve the necessary information for a license request:
- On the DSP application server, locate the Hardware Identifier program (called “HardwareIdentifier.exe") included in a zip file along with the DSP installation software and documentation previously downloaded from Syniti.
- Open the program.
- Click Generate.
- Copy the automatically generated Hardware ID and collect the following additional information below that pertains to the application server running DSP. Database server information is not needed:
- Hardware ID (as mentioned above)
- Windows computer name
- Number of processor cores (as shown in the Task Manager CPU tab)
- Usage of the DSP instance, as in, DEV, TEST (or QA) or PROD
Syniti Licensing delivers the license file via the support ticket.
Install the License
Perform the following steps to install the license:
- Log in to the DSP site as Administrator.
- Select Admin > Configuration > Product Licenses in the Navigation pane.
- Click Upload a File image in the FILE NAME column next to the Upload a New Product License link.
- Locate the license file provided by Syniti Licensing.
- Click Open.
- Verify the license is uploaded.
NOTE: If the Navigation pane does not display all licensed components as expected, use the browser refresh button or the F5 key to refresh the screen. At this point the full vertical menu displays.
Install the Application
Perform the following steps to install the application:
- Right click on psaProjectQA.zip and open Properties. (Unblock the file if it is blocked)
- Unzip the file.
- Navigate to the DSP Installation folder. (e.g. D:\BOA\DSP or C:\Program Files (x86)\BOA\DSP)
- Back up the DSP Install\BOA\DSP folder to a compressed zip file.
- Back up all Syniti-supplied SQL Server databases or verify that a complete recent backup already exists.
NOTE: Supplied databases are AutoGen, cMap, cMap_Data, cMass, cMass_Data, Console, CranPort, CranSoft, DataConstructionServer, DataDialysis, DataGarage, DBMoto_Client, DGE, DGE_Data, dgReports, dgSAP, dspAddOn, DSPCommon, dspMonitor_AccPak, dspMonitorConfig, DSW, IGC, Integrate, IntegrateStaging, InterfaceServer, MC, and RADToolkit.
- Stop IIS
This disconnects all active DSP users, so perform the install when no users are on the system. This process stops IIS on the web server.
- Open Windows Start Menu.
- Open the Command Prompt (run as Administrator).
- Type: IISReset –stop.
- Press the Enter key.
- Leave the Command Prompt window open for later use.
- Stop services that start with “Cransoft Service …”
This process stops all DSP background jobs, so it is highly recommended to perform the install when no scheduled operations are running on the system.
- Open Windows Start Menu.
- Select Administrative Tools.
- Run Services.
- Right-click the DSP service.
- Select Stop.
- Repeat the previous two steps for any additional DSP services.
- Copy the Web folder from the zip file to your existing DSP install\Web folder. If prompted, replace the files in the destination.
- Copy the Databases folder from the zip file to the existing DSP install\Databases folder. If prompted, replace the files in the destination.
NOTE: If a previous version is installed navigate to DSP install\Databases and execute file psaProjectQA_UnInstall.bat (run as an administrator).
- Navigate to DSP install\Databases and execute file bat (run as an administrator).
- Start all services that start with “Cransoft Service …”
- Open Windows Start Menu.
- Select Administrative Tools.
- Run Services.
- Locate the DSP service.
- Right-click the DSP service.
- Select Start.
- Repeat the previous two steps for any additional DSP services.
- Start IIS
- Open Windows Start Menu.
- Open the Command Prompt (run as an administrator).
- Type: IISReset –start.
- Press the Enter key.
If the Navigation pane in DSP doesn’t show psaProjectQA, then try these steps:
- Log in to the DSP site as Administrator.
- Select Admin > Configuration > Product License in the Navigation pane.
Ensure that psaProjectQA appears.
- Select Admin > Configuration > Site Menu in the Navigation pane.
Ensure that psaProjectQA appears If not, then:
- Click Add.
- Enter a priority in the PRIORITY.
- Enter psaProjectQA as the label for the site menu option in the LABEL field.
- Select the psaProjectQA : psaProjectQA page from the LINK TO PAGE ID list box.
- Select Admin > Configuration > Parameters in the Navigation pane.
- Click Clear Cache.
- Reload the browser tab.
NOTE: The Command Timeout for the psaProjectQA data source, set on the Data Source Registry page’s Vertical View in Common on the Advanced tab, must be set to at least 6000.
If you still can’t reach the psaProjectQA application, then review “Define Security Roles” article in the DSP Online Help to ensure that the DSP user has access to psaProjectQA. DSP Online Help is accessible from the question mark image in the top-right corner of all DSP pages. You can also open a ticket at support.syniti.com for assistance.

Quick Checklist to Issues
- Click Issues on the Issue page to view open issues.
- Click Add to create a new issue.
- Click Add on Issue Comment to create a comment.
- Add a file to the comment using the Upload and Download Feature.
- Issue Summary Dashboard displays the open issues in the Summary Format.
- Assigned to Dashboard list displays assignees to work the issues.
- View Archive Issue is available on the Toolbar of the Issue page.
- To archive an issue, click the Archive Toolbar on the Issue.
- On the Archive page, unarchive issues by clicking on the Toolbar.
Issues - Issues - (Under Issues)
The Issues screen allows for add, update and archive of issues for a project. They store several fields about an issue with a log of comments for each person working the issue. They may apply to waves, applications, or general questions.
Issue command has the ability to upload and download documentation or screen shots of the issue.
Configuration menu allows users to add to Issue Type, Priority, Process and Status for custom client values.
There are two Toolbar Options:
- View archive issues and comments for that issue.
- Archive the current issue.

Issues - Archive Issue - (Click View Archive on Issue Toolbar)
Archive Issues page displays the archive issues completed from the Issue page.
These issues are not counted in either of the dashboards because they are not active.
There are two Toolbar Options:
- View Issues page.
- Unarchive the current issue for it to return to the main issues page.

Issues Summary Dashboard provides a visual overview of the current issues. Click on the color pie sections to drill into the Issue page for that selection.

Standard issue types sent to each client. Projects are allowed to add or update this list.

Standard Issue Priority sent to each client. Projects are allowed to add or update this list.
Issues - Process - (Under Issues Configuration Sub Menu)
Standard Issue Processes sent to each client. Projects are allowed to add or update this list.
Issues - Status - (Under Issues Configuration Sub Menu)
Standard Issue Statuses sent to each client. Projects are allowed to add or update this list.
Issues – Load Cycle - (Under Issues Configuration Sub Menu)
Load Cycles may be configured at the client site. These changes apply to Issues and Sightline.
The LOAD CYCLE ORDER field provides the order in which a user views the Load Cycles.
Issues - Issue Parameter - (Under Issues Configuration Sub Menu)
Issue Parameters are set to exclude completed issues on the charts. Projects are allowed to add them to the counts or remove them. Edit the checkbox to include completed issues.
NOTE: Dashboards do not display archived issues.
