Data Stewardship Platform
The 6.7 and 6.7.1 releases of the DSP are currently with the SAP Premium Qualification (PQ) team. We have been informed that these releases should be available in the next few days on the SAP Market Place.
DSP 7.0 is currently completing development with the focus on a new UI aligning more closely to the IGC. This is the first step in our move towards a single unified solution architecture. DSP 7.0 will additionally support Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server 2017 (both currently in testing) and the move to a hosted help system to remove the reliance on documentation being shipped as part of the product has been completed. Issues identified from the SAP PQ process have also been resolved within the 7.0 product release, meaning that we can continue our Solex agreement with SAP.
DSP and Big Data
Did you know that it is possible to use the DSP in big data scenarios? Using features of SQL Server you can pushdown queries to remote systems such as Hadoop, SAP HANA, and Amazon S3. Using the pushdown technique utilizes the performance of the remote system and reduces data replication, as only the results of queries would be stored in the DSP.
Hadoop data can be queried using PolyBase. SAP HANA and Amazon S3 can be queried using ODBC via a linked server.
