We have a requirement of scrambling the customer data before proceeding with any data migration activity.

1. Can we scramble data in DSP using DSP functionality?

2. Is there any documentation for this functionality?

  KVandergriend: Scrambling the data is not the answer, as it will make it impossible to create conversion rules, validate those rules during creation, or for users to validate the data when reports are created. The better approach is to speak directly with the customer, discuss their concerns, and discuss how DSP security (and their own security) will adequately limit availability of the data to only those users that need to see it.

  DanDowney: I'm working on an HR project where data (SSN, Address Line, Hour rate, Salary Rate, etc) needs to be scrambled for the MOCK loads. Kurt is correct. You can not convert or verify scrambled data. Verify with your client that there will be no conversion.
