As a Content Marketing Specialist, Kayla keeps the community up-to-date with the latest market trends and events around all things data.
“One thing I like about Kayla,” Chris Alberts (Director of IT & Support) said, “is that the events she shares aren’t all about BackOffice - you can really learn something about governance and the industry.”
We held a short interview with Kayla to get her take on Gartner’s 2018 Market Guide and upcoming industry events.
Congrats Kayla! I feel this is way overdue!
Thanks so much for the honor!

Your profile tells me you’re a Content Marketing Specialist at BackOffice Associates. Could you explain a little of what that entails?
My main role is social media so I share content with our followers on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and naturally, I share that content with Data Insiders as well.
Recently you shared that BackOffice was listed as a representative vendor in Gartner’s 2018 Market Guide for information stewardship applications. What do you think this means for BackOffice going forward?
This is a huge honor for BackOffice Associates. While it is impressive we’ve been featured 3 years in a row, the thing that stands out in my mind is that we didn’t just meet some of Gartner’s qualifications, we met all of them! This is a huge achievement for us and something we should definitely be proud of as we move forward.

Last week, the Marketing department managed our booth at the biggest promotional event of the year, SAPPHIRE NOW in Orlando. Can you share a little about the vibe at an event like this? Any notable announcements or other developments?
SAPPHIRE NOW is always such a great event for the BackOffice team to meet current customers and future customers alike. It gives us a chance to take part in one of the largest events of the year for our industry.
Are there any upcoming events or webinars that the community should be aware of?
We always have great events happening and I encourage everyone to stay up-to-date by checking our events page. Two webinars of interest right now are Business Strategy Requires Data Strategy with a guest speaker from Forrester and Modern M&As Require Data Transformation with a guest speaker from Nielsen. Even if you missed the live webinar, you can still watch the recordings.
Kayla enjoys RV’ing with family (and Cash!)
Finally outside of marketing activities, and sharing news about BackOffice in the community - what do you like to do in your downtime!?
My favorite things are reading, standup paddleboarding, spending time with my dog Cash, and traveling with my family in my RV.
