Summary: | When using replication groups can enhance performance |
Placing replications in a group is strongly recommended when you have more than five tables being replicated in mirroring mode. All tables should have the same mirroring configuration, that is, all should include an initial refresh, or none should include an initial refresh.
If you have only a few replications, then putting them into a group doesn't significantly affect performance. However with more than five replications, using a group reduces the number of queries for mirroring and prevents the server from being hit with one query for each table all at the same time. With replications in a group, Syniti DR/DBMoto generates one query for all of the log information for all of the tables in the group. This will generally be more efficient.
