Product: | Syniti Data Replication (Syniti DR, fka DBMoto) |
Version: | All |
ID: | 2028 |
Summary: | Synchronization mode requires user names reported in the IBM Db2 for i (iSeries, AS/400) journal |
If you are performing replications in Synchronization mode with IBM Db2 for i/iSeries/AS400, you need to make sure that all database operations performed by Syniti DR/DBMoto are logged (journaled) with the user name DBMOTO (or another name exclusive to Syniti DR/DBMoto that you specified when setting up the replication). The algorithm used to identify database changes that must be synchronized looks for changes made by specific users other than the one you have identified exclusively for Syniti DR/DBMoto use. Therefore, user names must be included in the journal.
To verify that journal and receiver settings include user name information:
- Open a console on IBM i (iSeries/AS400.)
- Check the journal properties using the command CHGJRN and supplying the journal and library name.
- Make sure the following options are set:
Description
Internal Name
Value
Receiver Size Option RCVSIZOPT *NONE or *MAXOPT3 (not *MINFIXLEN) Fixed Length Data FIXLENDTA *JOB or *JOBUSRPGM
(or any parameter that allows logging the user name)
